Since I was a kid, I've been particularly interested in girls' games, like dressing up dolls and playing house, but instead I'm not too keen on beat-'em-up activities. Now that I'm 18, as a boy, I still watch videos of people playing with toys and can't help but giggle, and I also like to watch some younger animated movies (for kids under 12). Sometimes I wonder to myself: is this psychologically abnormal?
Let's start by pondering a few questions together: is pink really a girl's color? Is girly behavior considered a disease? Boys can't be nurses? Girls can't be firefighters? What are your answers?
In my opinion, there is no standard answer to any of these questions. Boys are perfectly capable of liking the color pink, girls can be very boyfriendly, boys can choose to be nurses, and girls can become firefighters. In life, we often label genders, and these are based on longstanding stereotypes, but the majority view is not always right.
So there's nothing wrong with your hobby at all, and it has absolutely nothing to do with being psychologically abnormal. What's wrong with a hobby that makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone else? Accepting yourself and liking yourself is the only way to live your true self. Remember, in this world, only you can define yourself. These hobbies that relax you, instead, can help reduce stress and are good for your mental health.
