He and I made our relationship official on Valentine's Day, we had known each other for years as long-distance friends, and we got along especially well in those first two days, but lately we've always been talking about his past relationship experiences, which makes me a little uncomfortable. I find myself always involuntarily dwelling on this topic, and can't help but repeatedly ask whether he will find me too annoying.
I feel like I'm getting worse and worse in the relationship, like I'm always inviting hate, but him, he's still as relaxed and easy going as he was before the relationship, nothing has changed.
He also feels like we've spent a little too much time glued together via chat apps since we've both been together, so I now purposely turn off his message notifications or purposely wait a while before replying, just so I don't want him to feel like I'm always staring at my phone waiting for him to hear from me.
I even began to wonder if it would have been better if we hadn't crossed that line and stayed friends. After all, when we were friends, we talked and both of us were happy and comfortable.
I really kind of regret now why I started this relationship in the first place.
Hi, first of all, congratulations on opening this relationship. From your description, I can see that you care about the other person very much, that's why you mind his relationship history, but you worry that this will make him feel annoyed, and you are afraid of losing him, which makes you regret that you shouldn't be in a relationship. In fact, it is normal to have these emotional reactions after falling in love, after all, it is not the same as ordinary friendship. It may be worth reflecting on where this lack of confidence in you really comes from.
