Afraid to joke with your coworkers? Three Steps to Crack Interpersonal Phobia

I find that I always seem to get stuck in interpersonal interactions, especially with my coworkers, and never dare to joke or joke around easily. I'm always careful in every conversation for fear of offending someone with the wrong words. About three or four years ago, I blushed when I talked to others, but later, although I didn't blush, my expression became stuttering. I'm not sure if it's because of my low self-esteem or something else, but I especially hate this state, but I feel powerless to get out of it.

Hi, buddy!

From your description, you seem to be living in a transparent protective film, what is hiding behind this? Is it the fear of getting into trouble with people? Or is it the fear of being ridiculed? Or maybe a social faux pas has left a shadow over you? To be honest, dealing with people so discreetly is particularly draining, and a burden on yourself and others! Living with a mask slowly saps away our confidence and authenticity.

Don't be in a hurry to label yourself. You just haven't learned to fully accept yourself as you are, and you don't appreciate your uniqueness enough. Being careful with what you say is actually a sign of carefulness and stability when you think about it from another angle.

Let's talk about how this problem came about, usually related to the experience of growing up. For example, if your family is too strict and you are always criticized, you will easily develop a low self-esteem and timid personality.

And think about any blows growing up, such as being hurt by a teacher or classmate? Sometimes one or two hard knocks can make a person extraordinarily unsure of themselves and fearful of socializing.

After figuring out why, one has to learn to channel those traumas. Look back with a more positive mindset and slowly find a sense of control and power over yourself.

In addition to dealing with historical baggage, the reality is that it is possible to reevaluate fear. For example, when you are afraid, what consequences are you specifically afraid of? Are those consequences really going to happen? Can you live with them if they happen? Once you analyze it this way, the fear will be much smaller. If you need to go deeper, you can make an appointment for professional counseling.

Practicing more communication builds courage and experience. Learn to accept your own idiosyncrasies, know yourself, like yourself, believe in yourself, and live authentically.
