Many moms are prone to bring their negative emotions home when they have a setback at work, or even lose their temper or scold their children. Whenever mom is in a bad mood, she may be especially critical of you and rage at the slightest thing. As a second year student, what should you do when faced with this situation?
Hello, dear classmate!
? It's really common to see the "cat-kicking effect" when mom is in a bad mood and takes it out on you.
Especially at this stage of your second year, you may feel both helpless and frantic, giving you a warm hug through the screen!

? Learning to manage your emotions is a must in everyone's life.
?Unmet expectations often hide behind emotions. With mom's emotional ups and downs, I have the following advice for second year students:
?Stabilize your emotions first. Junior year is in the middle of puberty, and the first thing you need to do is learn to control your emotions. Emotions in themselves are not right or wrong, but out-of-control emotions can lead to trouble.
? Set personal boundaries. There are three things in life: your business, other people's business, and God's business. Mind your own business, respect your mom's business, and accept what you can't change. When mom gets angry at you, try to understand that the need behind her lashing out may have nothing to do with you, so that you are less likely to be angered by her.
? Separate people from things. When in conflict, take things personally. When people have different views on the same matter, they can discuss it on the matter and not rise to the level of denying personal qualities. A mother's love is great, and sometimes your mom's behavior hurts you, but her love is still there.
? Communicate with nonviolence. Effective communication is the key to resolving conflicts. We recommend you read the book Nonviolent Communication to express yourself gently but firmly through the four-step process of Facts, Feelings, Needs, and Requests.
? I'm Counselor Demoiselle and I hope these suggestions help!
? All the best to you!
